The SIMMOD 2005 Conference seeks research contributions from researchers, educators, modelers, software developers and users, and practitioners. The conference encourages contributors to address a topical theme that is very relevant for the region: integrating sciences and technology for resource management toward sustainable development.
Special emphasis will be given to the analysis and modeling of complex human-environment-technology systems for improved management and decision making.
The implications of complexity and uncertainty and the different ways in which they can be treated are of strong interest. Contributions which discuss new concepts, methodologies and tools and which explore the current state of the art in various application areas of high scientific, social, economic and political relevance are especially welcome.
Doctoral candidates are also strongly encouraged to submit proposals for papers.
